The White Rabbit project site.

What it anchors

  • An open hardware and software project for sub-nanosecond synchronisation accuracy over Gigabit Ethernet, combining hardware timestamping, Synchronous Ethernet and phase detection.
  • Started in 2009 by CERN, GSI and partners from universities and industry, to synchronise thousands of devices across accelerator facilities.
  • It became the reference for the High Accuracy profile of IEEE 1588-2019, and is sold commercially by third parties.
