LHCONE
The LHC Open Network Environment connects the Tier-1s and Tier-2s as an L3VPN implemented with VRF — a dedicated worldwide backbone reserved for HEP data transfers and analysis. Deployed by around 40 national, regional and intercontinental R&E network operators, connecting more than 150 sites on four continents. Governance by federation applies to the wires too.
