Almost nothing at CERN runs on a machine somebody owns. cern-cloud provisions over 90% of the data centre; batch-service turns part of it into a high-throughput pool that replaced lsf; cern-paas hosts the web tier; and swan gives physicists a notebook that reaches all of it.
