Beyond running its own systems, CERN operates instruments of collaboration: malt to escape vendor lock-in, cern-openlab to co-develop with industry, scoap3 to flip an entire discipline to open access, cern-ohl to licence hardware designs, and cern-qti to prepare for quantum.
